The first charge of the Javelin explodes on contact with the tank, and it then releases a second, more powerful charge, which pierces the armor. With a range of 2,500 meters (yards), it can be used in direct attack mode to destroy a target or, if fired upwards, to shoot down a low-flying aircraft such as a helicopter.Do javelins work against helicopters?

I would assume that if it connects with the top of the tank, probably yes. Its a 19lb warhead, which is roughly twice something like an RPG. A tank's roof is nowhere near as strong as the front where composite armour is placed. Javelins are top attack missiles and can certainly penetrate the tank from above. Can a stinger shoot down a plane?
Low-Altitude AircraftA lot of the destroyed planes are planes that usually fly close to the ground to shoot their targets. Helicopters usually operate very close to the ground, making them super easy targets of the Stingers.
