Someone absolutely new to worm composting may be shocked to see how rapidly worms reproduce and build their population. These guys instinctively mate until space becomes limited, and then they just maintain that. That capacity is determined by the size of the bin they are in.
Can you overfeed worm bin?
Over-Feeding Causes OdorsThe worms' job is to eat the food before it gets super-rotten and stinky. If you add too much food at a time, they cannot keep up. Too much food can also push the air out of the bin, leading to foul-smelling anaerobic decomposition.
